Primary Purpose:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
[Physical Education Teachers: Current automated external defibrillator (AED) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate]
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Lead collaboration with teachers on curriculum work (Scope and Sequence, checkpoints) for Language Arts 3rd -12th grade.
- Lead work on Language Arts for PreK-12.
- Analyze data 12th Language Arts data and develop actionable steps to ensure mastery of Language Arts instruction.
- Attend PLCs and conduct Language Arts walkthroughs to check on success of programing and alignment.
- Collaborate with Language Arts teachers, ICs and Administration on Language Arts instruction (include Lever Leaders).
- Follow state requirements for the instruction of Math PK-12.
- Communicate with Director of C&I on resources needed for Language Artsinstruction.
- Organize Professional Development on Lanaguage Arts instruction.
- Lead work on selecting adoptions.

Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment; [P.E. teachers: automated external defibrillator (AED)]
Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Frequent walking
Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move textbooks and classroom equipment
Environment: Work inside, may work outside; regular exposure to noise
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours
