The LISD Technology department is implementing a Summer Intern Program for select students who are interested in exploring an IT career path. For Summer 2024, the program will consist of physical help with inventory & preparation of student Chromebooks and iPads for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Interns will be auditing the returned devices for any damages and necessary repairs. Interns will work alongside a current LISD Computer Technician to receive 1 on 1 training and mentoring. Interns will be introduced to and assist with various kinds of repairs like keyboard and screen replacement where necessary. Repaired & functional devices will be tested and updated to ensure efficiency in the upcoming school year.

Management: Director of Technology will require that interns fill out timesheets electronically to log the hours worked. Timesheets & Hours must be logged! At the end of the program, the Director of Technology will provide a signed letter certifying completion of the internship and the total amount of hours worked if needed. This will be emailed to the student for their records.
