Qualifications:

 

      Education/Certification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years or older

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Develop a series of enrichment activities based on previously identified program goals.
  • Deliver enrichment activities using materials provided by the Coordinator.
  • Track student attendance.
  • Follow established guidelines in managing student behavior.
  • Work cooperatively with other program staff.
  • Stand for extended period of times
  • Lift 25 lbs.
  • Other duties as assigned

 Experience:

 

Previous experience working with children is helpful not required.

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Ensure student safety at all times
  • Create and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Assist children in maintaining the standards of behavior set by the program by using non-punitive disciplinary methods and positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and co-workers.
  • Work effectively in a team setting.
  • Actively participate in team meetings with the site coordinator and fellow instructors.
  • Attend staff meetings and professional development/training as required by the site coordinator.

Part-time afternoon and evening work hours

 

Wage/Hour Status:

Certified Teacher: $25 an hour

Non-Certified: $15 and Hour
