Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years or older
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Develop a series of enrichment activities based on previously identified program goals.
- Deliver enrichment activities using materials provided by the Coordinator.
- Track student attendance.
- Follow established guidelines in managing student behavior.
- Work cooperatively with other program staff.
- Stand for extended period of times
- Lift 25 lbs.
- Other duties as assigned
Experience:
Previous experience working with children is helpful not required.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ensure student safety at all times
- Create and maintain a positive learning environment
- Assist children in maintaining the standards of behavior set by the program by using non-punitive disciplinary methods and positive reinforcement strategies.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and co-workers.
- Work effectively in a team setting.
- Actively participate in team meetings with the site coordinator and fellow instructors.
- Attend staff meetings and professional development/training as required by the site coordinator.
Dept./School: Community Education
Part-time afternoon and evening work hours
Wage/Hour Status:
Certified Teacher: $25 an hour
Non-Certified: $15 and Hour
